The Civil Business division’s activities include supervision and consultancy of highway roads, railways, water supply and drainage system, leisure facilities, and harbors projects. Within the Cavils’ division Rise have a fully equipped Materials testing Laboratories network, for the independent testing of materials for use in the Civil Engineering industry. In conjunction with the testing laboratories Rise operate an inspection department staffed by a team of engineers for the purpose of third party independent site inspections, on behalf of the client.

Executive Summary

We want to take Engineering to the next level. Rise Engineering Consulting Company was established in September 2005 by Seven Civil Engineers with backgrounds in various aspects of Civil Engineering, i.e. design, construction and quality control of roads, bridges, laboratory testing, CAD and surveying. The experience of the above Engineers was varying between two to ten years in this field.

The main reason for establishing this company was the potentials that existed in Afghanistan for professional Companies, as most of the existing companies both in design and construction were very weak in every aspect, and most of them even not qualified Engineers. Very few of these companies have Engineers who are familiar with English and this is a major reason for their poor quality works as they do not fully understand the technical specification. This also results in wrong cost estimates, the construction not being in accordance with the specifications and financial claims.

This potential in the market triggered the idea of establishing an Engineering Company who could provide services to the international standards in Afghanistan. The advantage of this Company over other foreign companies in Afghanistan is that the Engineers are familiar with the environment understand Dari, Pashto and English, and have worked in Afghanistan and European countries. Hard work and patience has been the major success of the members of the Board of Directors who has also financed the company.

As we grow, we want to grow right and we need to build our management team correctly. We need the right people in the right place at the right time. We also need to develop our teams so that our people can grow as the company grows.
